How to price your first UGC deal.
Undercharging is the most common mistake new creators make. Here’s a simple way to work out a fair rate, and the extras you should never give away for free.
1. Start with a base rate per video
Your base rate covers one finished video: the idea, filming, editing and one round of changes. Pick a number you’d be happy to say yes to, then write it down so you quote the same way every time.
Not sure where to start? Ask Creator24’s AI Manager. It suggests a rate based on your niche, platform and following, so you’re not guessing.
2. Add the extras brands often forget to mention
The base rate is only for the video. These change the value of the deal, so price them separately:
- Usage rights. If the brand runs your video as an ad, that’s worth more than a one-off post.
- Exclusivity. Agreeing not to work with competitors means turning down other paid work.
- Raw footage. Unedited clips let the brand make more content from your work.
- Extra revisions. One round is standard. More rounds cost more.
- Posting on your page. Pure UGC is delivered to the brand. Posting to your audience is an extra.
3. Ask for their budget first
Before you send a number, ask: “Do you have a budget in mind for this?” It often comes in higher than you’d have asked for. If they won’t share it, quote your rate with the extras listed, so they can see exactly what they’re paying for.
Quick tip: package your offer. “3 videos + 30 days of paid usage” is easier for a brand to say yes to than a list of prices.
4. Put it in writing
Once you agree, confirm the deliverables, deadline, usage, payment amount and payment date in writing before you start filming. Creator24 can review a contract or write a simple one for you.
